It is't important who was right and who was wrong. It may surface that in the end I was not totally right and you were not totally wrong.
What happened in my opinion, as expressed previously, is that Britain/Boris needed a deal more than anything else, "no deal" would have been a disaster for Britain as it does not have any colonies anymore it could rob to remain prosperous and "rule" the waves. The real challenge is yet to come ... to make the deal work.
As it is they have a deal, but it may be a "whatever deal, as long as it is a deal" because history might be unforgiving if it ended any other way. This is sort of what Michiel is also saying.
As explained before, for me little will change ... when taking the Chunnel in Sangatte we still will be treated unfriendly, as if illegals attempting to cross the Channel, show your passport (not just identity card anymore), have your car drugs and explosives tested and customs check for contraband.
