I also took my youngest daughter to ground zero in NYC not too long after 9/11 when they were still cleaning up the pit ... we visited Omaha Beach, many military cemeteries to inspire my youngsters about the stupidity of war.
I also took my family to Oradour-sur-Glane, a French village which was destroyed by Nazi troops in 1944 and with just a few survivors the whole population massacered ... You think this cannot happen anymore in the 21st century ... and then Ukraine gets invaded, buildings destroyed, people murdered ...
I have a lot of visiting left to do with my family ... Hiroshima ... MyLai ... Auschwitz ...
