The ultimate aim is to evolve towards the definition from P4.07 Art.1.
FidoNet is defined by a NodeList issued weekly by the International Coordinator.
Two changes are already visible:
1) The mention of the EU GDPR rules was removed and migrated to www.fidonet.org. 2) The order of the zones was also changed. Historically, the very first ZC2 Henk Wevers put zone-2 first to speed up serial searches in the nodelist. This is no longer necessary with faster drives now, but above all better processors and more intelligent software. Normally a change of zone sequence should not affect functionality.
Over the next few months, both the "prolog" and "epilog" of the nodelist will be revised. The other Z2DAILY and UTF8 distributions will continue to exist...
