It's a universal issue with politicians, they promise ...
The problem is that any government is a monolith which goes in a certain direction. Politicians make promises at election time and people believe that when in office they will execute a 90 degree change in course while in reality they may get at 2 or 3 degree course change only.
Remember Obama, in 2008 he promised to close the prison at Guantanamo. Well, Obama's gone in the meantime but Guantanamo's prison is still there in 2022 with original detainees in it ...
