Ah, I thought more that both sides have smtp servers = just simple .forward scripting or similar. But imap/smtp clients - is more intetesting.
In general I understood is easier these days to add binkd layer (than imap/smtp, also than sftp/ftp)
My specific case was about: my uplink has nearly everything. I have just binkd. I needed to feed other system by Netmail Attachment, and that system is classic modem guy. At the end was solved by routed Netmail Att via my uplink - actually my interest is more on theoretical level.
