Misuse of Police forces is also known here even after revolution (but OK, nothing to do with fidonet). It reminded me crackdown of chain of GreenHome shops here in cz. 2013. Some them are still in court. Police that time seized goods worth millions (CZK). Just recently Constitutional Court stated that it was not legal that time.
What we have as heritage here, from comunist time - we can see censorship and misuse of police forces as soon as they show up. But, as byproduct from this we miss partiotism here...
