yeah, some nets were quite open and truthful about getting feeds... others not so much... i was turned down one time when asking for a feed and told that i had to get it from my *C/*EC to which i responded "not if i'm paying the phone bill." :)  besides, it was cheaper for out-of-state long distance than it was for in-state long distance... i was given a free feed out of texas one time because i only had a 2400 modem... once i had the mail here, i could feed it to anyone else that wanted it... at 2400... 20 to 30 minute mail transfers were common and at $0.10US/minute, it would add up at the end of the month... eg: 3x a day, 30 mins each, times .10, times 30days in the monthly billing cycle, $270US before taxes and fees...
