They mostly don't 'cling' on their pbx, it isn't affordable to throw away a horrible expensive isdn pbx. Most of them are hired for a long decade.
Because of this need, there are a crowd of new isdn/voip gateways from cisco/lancom/etc. Also faxismile and data over isdn is common practice. This communication is quick, fast and _secure_! It also is accepted by the finance authority!
To destroy the 'isdn' X75 feature is like to destroying SSH or VPN.
