Aha, you have besides FoIP also VoIP. My POTS is really poor, ie independent from ISP and 230 Vac~ mains. No wall mains powered RJ45 EtherNet / WiFi router needed for voice calls. So I can call in Voice to the isp, if I was not deaf/hard of hearing ;-(. When I have Inet problems, I have to find out with my 3G prepaid SimCard Router to make a connection to the isp. It is my backup inet connection on the move at computerclubs or when sailing. Or walk to de libray about 250 meters from my home at opening times, i.e. from 10:00 - 20:00 Mo.-Fr. or 10:00-17:00 Sa. Or 13:00-17:00 at sunday in winter. No sunday opening in summer. For the same reason I have no (color) printer anymore when it died in 2015. I walk to the library when hard copy's are needed at an affordable price. But there are may more POTS / FoIP nodes where some can drop a Crash NetMail to. That is where the most up to date ModeList is for, looking for CrashNetMail reachable systems by POTS and/or FoIP ;-). I only update to a fresh NodeList when I have the intention to crashpoll some system. For safety reasons I do not like automatically update and reindex to a fresh NodeList, especially not when I am not at home sailing etc. There were several indicators in the past that systems can blow up or hang with automatic update installers, i.e. could not poll anymore etc. When I am not at home, I am not CrashNetMailing at all ;-). I want to have my UniCorn BBS as stable as possible.
