Hello Fred,

On Thursday December 06 2018 17:16, you wrote to me:

Strictly speaking your system is not multi homed. Both host names point to the same IP address. It is multi DNS.

The two hostenames listed for my system return different IP numbers.

Things do not always work as expected.

Binkp.net extracts a valid address from the nodelist that can be used by binkd to make a connection.

The standard documents a way to list multiple host names. It does not say that applications MUST use this feature and try them all. I see no conflict with the standard.

Ask Markus.

Cheers, Michiel
