So why do you want to abandon it then. Do you use the system for general internet access, or only as a fidonet host.
Do the patches you received concern the OS or mostly utilities like the webbrowser and the e-mail system?
Do you have to drop it because you cannot reinsatll it on new hardware, and the patches from your installation version till now are no longer available.
I know it is a bat habit not to be up to date on patches, but what are your risks, how open is the system to the outside world.
I once had a hole in the mail system from another OS. There were reasons, why the system was not upgraded for years. The troyan failed, because the old setup dit not conform to what the troyan expected.
This is not an advcice not to be up to date on your software, but sometimes you have to live with the fact.
But making new setup can be a nice challenge. ;-) Try a Rapsberry PI and paspbian, it has no problem with IPv6. ;-)
