In the case of a dual stack LAN, as Markus mentioned, the 6to4 tunnel endpoint must be in the router. Not all routers support that. well, you can change the router. But also.. A 6to4 tunnel requires a (quasi)static IPv4 address for the tunnel end point. That is something not everyone has and can change.
